The birth of our official Club
Six other people shared Louk’s dream for a club to promote Petanque on Crete and they (Louk Andrianos, Jacques Zafran, A. Fasolo, Christos Chatzichristodoulos, Antonis Glambedakis, and Ioannis. Papadimitrakis) became the founder members and the first directors of the embryonic club.
The new club boasted just fifteen members, Louk Andrianos (president), Jacques Zaffran, Antonis Glampedakis (member), Georgios Chatzisotirakis (vice-president), Malandrakis Ioannis, Daskalakis Eleftheia (lawyer of the club), Ioannis Papadimitrakis, Alexia Fassolo (secretary), Georgios Koukoutsis (member), Maria Malandraki, Georgia Glampedaki (member), Christos Chatzichristodoulou, Maryse Chaussin, Hervet Chaussin (treasurer), and Catherina Ellinaki.
It took the founding members 3 years to raise the 650 Euros fee and recruit the 20 members necessary to register the club but in 2014 the first part of the founders ambitious dreams were realised when Chania Petanque became an officially recognised sporting club in Crete. In 2021, the club start using its VAT number 996721824 after the official renewal of its statut by the Greek law. in 2025, the club joins the Hellenic Petanque Federation after its union with the previous Hellenic Petanque Clubs Association in October 2024.
